IHEEM Conference
Amtech were in attendance at the IHEEM (Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management) conference held in Harrogate in October 2009.
Ian Elmer, Technical Services Manager for the AMTECH Group presented a paper entitled ‘Health-Specific Building Services Specifications Utilising New Technology – The Way Forward’ which demonstrated how the provision of healthcare data in electronic form can be quickly and easily disseminated and produced for use in building services specifications.
The Department of Health is currently developing a new set of Healthcare Technical Building Services Clauses to accompany the existing HTM documents and supersede the old NHS Model Engineering Specification, which is now considered to be out of date and has been archived. The preferred format for this data is electronic and AMTECH have been tasked to provide a facility that would allow the user to insert these specific healthcare clauses into nes to make it healthcare compatible and compliant.
