Product plans
Our main focus has been putting together a new release of Specification Expert. This will incorporate a full content update and also an update to the
specification writing and generation software. We are confident you will be pleased to see just how much we have achieved. Not only will the new release
update the clauses to reflect all changes in standards,etc, but we have also taken the opportunity to enhance the product and include some new features
that should greatly improve the value of Specification Expert, all requested by you. This release will be the first chance to see tangible results from the scale of investment we are making in nes Specification Expert.
Here are just some of the initiatives planned for the next release:
- Full ongoing audit of all work sections
- Investigations to enrich the software to handle all aspects of specifications
- Facilities to produce schedules within Specification Expert
- Back-up and restore routines
- A thorough review to simplify the user interface
- Incorporation of new material technologies and clauses in the content
- Enhanced technical guidance content
We are already planning ahead for future releases, taking into account ideas being contributed by you and the advisory panel.

People
AMTECH Group has around 100 employees with an extensive range of engineering and software skills. We are deploying substantial resources pursuing our aim of ensuring Specification Expert is the industry standard tool used for generating specifications. As well as bringing our existing resources to bear, we are well underway in bringing together a specialist team for nes, with several appointments already made and more recruitment still to take place.
Many of you will know Ann Fugler. Ann had been Production Editor for Specification Expert for 7 years and joined us to continue in this vital role when we acquired nes. Ann’s experience in this product and market give us continuity and expertise to drive forward. Edson Ferreira has joined our software development team as Senior Software Developer, leading the enhancement of the Specification Expert software in conjunction with our extensive team of programmers.
We are also very excited to announce we have just appointed a Technical Services Manager to lead the nes Specification Expert team who is an experienced consulting engineer with extensive experience in specification writing.
